Menorca Airport (known as Mahon Airport when it opened in 1969) is the gateway to Menorca and around a 15 minute drive from the attractions in the town of Mahon.
Just 4.5km outside of the town centre of Mahon, the airport is not only perfect for visitors to Menorca but also serves the rest of the island.
With the airport being close to the ME-1 motorway it offers great and convenient transport links for visitors to the island and is easily reached by taxi, bus or private car.
Menorca Airport has grown over the last decade to the point that it now serves more than 3 million passengers every year. Menorca is the second largest of Spain's Balearic Islands and is a very popular summer holiday destination for Europeans and as with many airports in Spain, Menorca “Mahon” airport is operated by AENA.
Most of the popular European airlines including Ryanair, EasyJet, Iberia, Jet2, Norwegian and many more arrive and depart from here, with more flights from different European locations during the summer months.
After a major refit the airport was completed before the start of the 2008 season. Which now has 16 gates linked by jet ways to the main terminal building. These jet ways spread out from the terminal like fingers on giant hands.
The terminal, is a single building over 2 floors, arrivals on the ground floor with departures and security for boarding gates on the 1st floor.
There is a good selection of restaurants, bars and fast food outlets, to keep everyone happy both airside and in the public areas. Additionally the airport has free unlimited Wi-Fi, television, comfortable seating, and a children’s space.
